15-LOVE Kids Meet "Pistol Pete" Sampras as Part of a Day Long Event in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY (June 19, 2007) - 15-LOVE participants were busy yesterday with a day long event that started with a National Junior Tennis League (NJTL) Regional Rally hosted by 15-LOVE and the USTA. The event was scheduled to be at Central Park in Schenectady but was moved indoors to Capital Region Tennis and Fitness in Albany due to the rain. Regional Rally's are held across the country every summer and they are an opportunity for area tennis programs to come together and participate in fun and action-packed games.

The NJTL of Springfield, MA came down to Albany, NY for the Regional Rally.
Kids turn in tickets won playing games on-court for prizes.

The USTA also supplies these events with pleanty of prizes including t-shirts, tennis racquets, and tennis bags. 15-LOVE participants enjoyed having the opportunity to compete in various games against other kids throughout the region.

Regional Rally participants line-up and try to hit targets spread out on the other side of the net.

After the Rally, the kids were treated to pizza. Everybody then headed over to Schenectady for the World Team Tennis match featuring Pete Sampras. The match was a great chance for kids to see a player in action who many would consider to be the greatest that has ever played the game.

At the end of the night, 15-LOVE had the chance to meet Pete Sampras, get his autograph, and take lots of pictures with him. Look for more pictures with Pete and more about this event (from the kid's point of view) in 15-LOVE's Fall 2007 Newsletter.
